OVERVIEW

Andrey Gorodissky & Partners law firm, one of Russia's leading law firms, was founded in February 1992 by practicing lawyers who for many years had been working in state foreign-trade organizations, legal departments of government ministries and legal research institutes in Russia and abroad. At its foundation the firm had the name "Business & Law" that was changed to "Andrey Gorodissky & Partners" in April 2000 to conform with the standards adopted in the attorney's business. All lawyers of the firm are members of the Moscow Bar Association.

Andrey Gorodissky & Partners is an independent partnership of lawyers who are engaged exclusively in professional attorney's business on the basis of the Federal Law on Attorney's Activity and Advocacy in the Russian Federation. At present, the firm has fourteen partners, three associates, four legal assistants and eighteen in support staff (having grown from two attorneys and three in staff at its foundation in 1992). Our lawyers have broad experience and a reputation for offering a full range of quality legal services to Russian and foreign businessmen and companies operating in various branches of industry and commerce. They provide advice, represent clients in commercial negotiations, before Russian common and state commercial (arbitrazh) courts, and in international commercial arbitration in Russia and abroad, draft corporate documents, contracts and other legal instruments of any level of complexity.

In our work we are guided by and adhere to the highest ethics standards of the client-attorney relationship that are rooted in the historical tradition of Russian advocacy and have absorbed all fundamental rules effective in the attorney communities of America and Western Europe. Those principles and rules are set out in our partnership agreement.

From its offices in Moscow the firm maintains close correspondent relations with leading law firms of the United States of America, Germany, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belorus, and a number of other countries, which makes legal assistance to Russian and foreign clients more effective. Two thirds of the firm's clients are major U.S.A., West-European and Asian companies.
